Jose Vilar, AIA
Jose Vilar has been practicing architecture for over 30 years. As managing partner and project architect of Baker Vilar Architects, Mr. Vilar has overseen and participated in various types of new construction and modernization projects. With his commitment to designing public buildings in his practice, his expertise includes creative and sustainable solutions for the new construction and renovation of various civic buildings and educational buildings.
Mr. Vilar has won a number of awards for work in education and housing. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and has recently been nominated as a fellow (FAIA). He is also a member of the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (C.A.S.H.) and the California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Task Force for the Schools of the Future Initiative.
