Jose Vilar, AIA
Jose has been practicing architecture for over 40 years. As managing partner and project architect of Baker Vilar Architects, Mr. Vilar has overseen and participated in various types of new construction and modernization projects. With his commitment to designing public buildings in his practice, his expertise includes creative and sustainable solutions for the new construction and renovation of various civic buildings and educational buildings. Mr. Vilar has won a number of awards for his work in education and housing. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and has recently been nominated as a fellow (FAIA). He is also a member of the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (C.A.S.H.) and the California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Task Force for the Schools of the Future Initiative.
David Baker, FAIA
Before completing his formal education, David Baker was a union carpenter. From 1977 until 1982 he was a principal of Sol-Arc, a firm focused on the integration of architectural design with solar and energy conservation issues. David is a member of the American Institute of Architects, in 1996 he was selected as a Fellow of the AIA.
